Thomas Woll, President
Thomas Woll has over twenty years of experience in the areas of trade, direct response, professional and college publishing, most at senior management levels. He has, uniquely, been directly responsible for companies as small as start-ups and divisions as large as $80 million. In addition, Woll has extensive experience working with magazine companies who wish to leverage their editorial product into book publishing efforts.

Woll's experience spans all areas of trade and professional book publishing, including editorial development and planning; new product search and acquisition; sales and marketing (including setting up distribution and sales terms); rights; production and manufacturing; budgeting and strategic planning. He also is expert in the front-end of direct response publishing: new product testing and acquisition; editorial planning and acquisition; production and manufacturing; digital strategy; and digital business models.

Woll's experience includes:

  • President of Cross River Publishing Consultants.
  • Vice President & General Manager, Professional & Trade Division, John Wiley & Sons (the division consisted of five product lines: business, general interest, computer, psychology, and hospitality titles.)
  • Vice President & Publisher, Book Division, Rodale Press, Inc.
  • Publisher, Storey Communications/Garden Way Publishing
  • Vice President & Publisher, Beaufort Books, Inc. (U.S. subsidiary of Stoddart/General Publishing Co., Toronto)
  • Vice President & General Manager, Vanguard Press, Inc.

He has also served on such industry panels as:

  • Association of American Publishers, Executive Council
  • Association of American Publishers, Chairman, Smaller Publishers Group
  • Publisher's Marketing Association, Board of Directors

In addition, Woll has lectured frequently at industry events sponsored by Folio; Publisher's Marketing Association; Publishers of the West; Publishers of the South; Association of American Publishers, and more.

Woll has both an MA in English and an MBA in management. He is also a member of the Author's Guild of America.


Elizabeth Woll, Creative Director
Elizabeth Woll has been a graphic designer with a specialty in book design for twenty-five years. With degrees in both typography and printmaking, she has worked with publishers from large to small both as an in-house designer and as the head of her own studio.

Her work has covered a wide range of categories including novels, self-help, cooking, gardening, beauty and general non-fiction for the trade market; catalogues and public relations materials for museums; gift books and journals for the gift trade; as well as a Bible study continuity series and daily devotional books for the religious market.
